What Spell It collects from learners, and why
Spell It is made by Brogan LLC. You can reach us at hello@brogan.io or (404) 490-0467.
What a learner's use creates
- Practice records: which words were answered, how, how long it took, and the word mastery the app works out from them.
- Words the learner adds to a list.
- The profile name and picture you chose for the learner.
- App-generated ids that keep the profile's data together, and a record of the device.
- A crash report, if the app fails.
None of this is used for advertising. It is shared only with the services that run the app, except that words on a list appear in any share link a grown-up publishes.
What learners cannot do
Recording a voice, publishing a share link, turning on reminders, and leaving the app all sit behind the grown-up gate. A learner cannot do any of them without a grown-up passing the gate first.
What we ask
We need your agreement before a learner uses Spell It on a profile under your account. If you do not agree, do not create a profile for the learner, and nothing is collected on your account for them. You can withdraw at any time by deleting a profile, or the whole account, in the app; deletion follows the schedule in the Privacy Policy. A learner who opens Spell It with no grown-up present instead uses a separate anonymous account, which collects only the learner data above, with no grown-up asked, until a grown-up signs in and takes it over.
Where the rest is
The full Privacy Policy says everything on this page in more detail, including who else sees data and how long it is kept. The Terms cover the account itself.
